Party Time 2000

I don't know who this guy is.
Party Time 2000 is a Chicago-based producer hailing from my former Northside neighborhood of Rogers Park.
.
Pratt & Sheridan, Kenmore and Granville, and Howard Street and Damen, where I grew up, yea boy! Keep your head down, don't make eye contact, and respect the blue cameras up in that piece.
.
How does this end up in my mail box? It's really good!
.
As this is a small blog and I don't even imagine many people read it, I am always surprised and pleased to get mail. So I get like one reader submission a week, which isn't much, but the crazy thing is that half of them are ridiculously amazing. I always open them thinking it's going to be crap, but whoa is me, it hardly ever is. Case in point, Leonardus EP from last week. Shoot, I'm going to put Womanizer on right now, that sucker is so good and crisp it blows my mind every time I listen to it.
.
Which leads right up to my point. I only received one submission this week, and tada, it is freakin unreal. I don't know what I did to deserve these jams, but sure enough they are amazing. At first, I looks at the track list and I'm like hmmm, I bet I know how this is gonna sound and it's probably gonna be like every other blog jam out there, but how pleased I was to discover a finely woven tapestry of sparkling pretty party jams. Right off the bat, the mix starts up with an on point mix of Devin The Dude with just a gorgeous analog squiggle in the background over Devin's rhymes. I love how it's not super duper up tempo and is not forcefully demanding me to get up and shimmy, the sound encourages me to shimmy yet does not mandate the shimmy. And the Lil' Wayne remix? Freakin' gorgeous. best Lil' Wayne remix I have heard in my entire life. I cannot believe how delicate and heartfelt it is, just a spine tingler and prettier than physics should allow Lil' Wayne's voice to be sampled. Then the remix of Drowning Pool and Peg Roussel? I don't even know who or what that is but I know I want more.
.
So in closing, Party Time 2000, your systems are clearly much more advanced than mine and I only hope that you continue to share your technology with the rest of us.
.
First Rainbo Video and now this....

If you are from another town, please bring a bucket of water because once again Chi is on fire!

You couldn't have said it any better. I've always felt that way about PT jams... glad to see you feel the same way. I wish I could find more music like this, un/fortunately, he is so distinct and ground breaking that you can't find anything else like this right now. I love you PT! Can't say enough good words.

yeah, i was on vacation this past weekend and i listened to this compilation nonstop and the lil wayne remix in particular just drove me crazy. that song makes me want to get out of bed in the morning. and another minor point - aren't these songs spectacular enough not to call them remixes even?

I think the "remix" title attracts new listeners but I would definitely still listen to them as original beats. I'm listening right now, and I just did a praise post about this same comp on my blog. Ask him for "Late Nights" and the remix of "Raining Blows." Great tracks. I agree though, the Mrs. Officer one is a standout above the standouts. Hit my top played iTunes list within a few days.
