Diva Gash

Colombia's only supergroup is coming to America!!

Hot off a smashing performance at the SXSW festival, Diva Gash is headed to America this summer to make them gringos dance!

I haven't posted much new stuff lately cos I was studying for an exam, which I completed last Saturday. Other than that, I haven't really heard much music that's knocking my socks off so I've kind of been listening to the same stuff over and over. I just don't want to listen to any kind of cheesy shit anymore and I'm clamoring for some real hip hop. Can't wait to see Doom in all his lip synching glory this summer at Pitchfork. And I'm kind of thinking of raiding my old CD library and pulling up some 90s house classics that I forgot about. But until then I have one fantastic song for you, Vancouver's own Laberge with "Neon Disco". This gives me hope.

I just heard the new Alan Braxe

Ever since I heard Alan Braxe's remix of Benjamin Diamond's "In Your Arms"

...I knew Mssr. Quême had some serious game.

And now after seeing him DJ two times and hearing his new remix of Fenech-Soler's "The Cult of Romance"discodust_got_the_goods I'm willing to go out on a limb and say he might be the most talented French producer not named Guy or Tom.

I just really like him.

Arajay: The Saga Continues

I'm on some pretty thin ice here.

Here I am, just a week after receiving a rebuke from the DMCA, once again posting illegal copyrighted material.

Here's a remix that hopefully won't get taken down by the Gestapo, by Arajay. It is simply catchy as all hell, and you probably won't be able to get it out of your head for weeks. There should be a warning label!

Arajay, pictured above, is an emerging talent coming out of the damp New Orleans heat with beats that do not politely ask you to boogie, they demand it. Sorry ladies, he's taken. As with many successful music producers, Arajay is also a graphic designer by day and has a large portfolio that you can examine @ arajay dot com, as well as many other goodies to check out.

Honestly I didn't know what to think about this song the first time I heard it, kind of like a confused white boy on the dance floor when the music starts. Then my head started a'bobbin', I start singing the chorus ("Shreveport's crappy, Shreveport's crappy"), and now I have anointed it as the dirty party jam for which I've been clamoring. Now that's what I call a filthy bass line.
